Bharti Airtel Limited Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, India & South Asia Gopal Vital on 30th July hinted that Airtel had more innovations up its sleeve which will further lower the cost of Airtel Xstream Box over time. He was speaking at an analyst’s call a day after the teleco reported its financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2020.
Vittal further noted that Airtel was witnessing a solid traction to its Xstream Box which it has been promoting heavily. The company will also continue to improve the customer experience for its Xstream Box users while trying to lower the cost of the box.
“On the B2C side our digital teams have built a converged platform – Airtel X Stream that brings together OTT and content partnerships across Mobile and the Home. We have developed a first of its kind X stream box that brings the power of linear TV and OTT content into one seamless experience on the large screen through a simple and intuitive customer interface. So in addition to linear content, we have built partnerships with Zee, Disney, Amazon, Eros, Curiosity Stream and several others to provide an endless array of entertainment to our Home customers. This product is now seeing solid traction and we have more exciting innovations lined up over time to lower the cost of the box while continuing to improve the customer experience,” Gopal Vittal said during the conference call on 30th July.
Crucially, the remark comes days after the Xstream Box at Rs 1500 refundable security deposit proposition went live on 24th July for Airtel Xstream Fiber customers indicating that Airtel has more innovations on the Xstream Box front apart from the currently available ‘Xstream Thanks Offer‘ and ‘Xstream Rs 1500 refundable security deposit proposition’.
