SD will add southern based hd channels to strength its base in south India. TP is main prob and till any sat is positioned at 91.5E by isro/other sat companies inplace of half failed insat4b sd has less to do on their own. What gsat 14, gsat16, gsat7 and recently launced gsat6 doing, still in test mode. All these sat pocess ku band. Moreover upcoming GSAT-15 is same as GSAT-10 and is to increase the capacity of ku band transponders to provided more bandwidth for dth television.

TSKY got the gsat10 along with existing insat4a is great advantage and so is keep on adding sd/hd channels. gsat10 was launched in sep2012 and only now tsky making use of it. so within 1-2 years time could sd get its tps.

Sun Direct doesn't have enough space left in HD frequency to adjust two more HD channels in existing TP
