ya just asked why and how are they allowed ?
Why shouldn't they be allowed? Makes no sense, these are not permanent rights, this is for a certain period after which it will expire. Who ever pays more will get it, it's as simple as that.

there are merger complications, and company has still not abided the cci rules and merger has not been completed.
 
Based on recent bids, it is clear that Sony is not pursuing the ACC rights aggressively. They are choosing not to invest in areas where they do not foresee profitability, whether it's in cricket rights or movie rights.
