“This is a major win for us because the ACC media rights include the India-Pakistan games, which are the most sought after matches. We have made a financially prudent investment, and this property has immense value,” SPNI CEO Gaurav Banerjee told ET.

“Acquiring ACC media rights wouldn’t have brought any incremental gains to JioStar on either TV or digital platforms,” said a sports broadcast expert.

Banerjee said SPNI’s cricket calendar, featuring rights to ACC, New Zealand Cricket, England Cricket, and Sri Lanka Cricket, looks strong. Next year, the network plans to showcase India’s tour of England and the Asia Cup.

It's a bit shocking that no company other than Sony participated i think it's a signal for cricket organisations to have a right base price so that other companies also show interest because from now companies and especially Uday Shankar will not be aggressive in buying rights and if Sony wouldn't have shown interest then their would have been no buyer for Asia cup but happy that Sony got any big cricket event

Eventually no Indian broadcasters buy media rights, when rights like IPL, BCCI, ICC, ACC coming up. Dhoni, Virat and Rohit played key role for broadcasters viewership and selling ads in this era.

Uday shankar known it's tough for monetization even Ambani unlimited investment too can't help. players like Dhoni, Virat, Rohit who actual makes big Impact even away tours cricket boards to generate huge Revenue. Virat, Rohit already retired from T20 International and maybe in few years they will retire from IPL too.

In ACC odi Virat and Kohli will be there until they retire from odi. Star not brought because they are in 12000cr loss due to icc rights and they have too much rights they don't care and to prevent from action from cci.

After merger of starjio, all cricket rights shall be sold on base price. Even bcci price was sold to only the single bidder jio.
Though cricket rights attract viewers, but those all are huge lossmaking properties
