New Delhi: Airtel digital TV-the DTH service from Bharti Airtel, today announced that it has added 15 more channels over the last 3 months taking, its Total Channel Count to 262. With this, Airtel digital TV now offers 240 channels in Standard Definition (SD) and 11 High Definition (HD) channels. The 4 new HD channels added include UTV Stars HD, History TV 18 HD, Colors HD, CNBC TV 18 Prime HD taking its True HD channel count to 11.
Whats more-the Airtel digital TV HD pack is priced attractively at INR 89 per month (inclusive of taxes). The new SD channels added include History TV 18, UTV Telegu Action, Sony Mix, Sahara Samay, Sahara Samay UP and Sahara Samay Bihar. Customers can also choose to go in for the Hindi HD Pack of 4 channels, Star Plus HD, Star Gold HD, Colors HD, UTV Stars HD for INR 35 per month (inclusive of taxes).
According to Mr. Shashi Arora, CEO - DTH/Media, Bharti Airtel, “The growth of the High Definition category over the past year together with rising sales of flat panel TVs has added a new dimension to viewing experience. The recent initiatives of broadcasters over the past few months to look at different genres for True HD, has lent a welcome impetus to the process of the entire production, storage and distribution chain moving to HD. We will continue to strengthen our True HD content mix while continuing to bring in more content that suits regional preferences.”
To add any of these channels, customers just need to send an SMS, ‘ADD channel number’ from their registered telephone number to 54325. Alternatively, the customers can order the channels from Self Care on the web-www.airtel.in/digitaltv. The customers also have an option of 3 languages-English, Hindi, Tamil for their Programme Guide, at mere click of a button.
