கடந்த மாதம் அரசு கேபிள் டிவி நிறுவனம் மீடியா புரோ நிறுவனம் விநியோகிக்கும் சேனல்களுக்கு வெளியிட்ட 21 நாள் பொது அறிவிப்பு நோட்டிஸ் கெடு முடிந்த நிலையில்,தமிழகத்தின் பல பகுதிகளில் மீடியா புரோ நிறுவனம் விநியோகிக்கும் பிரபல சேனல்களின் ஒளிபரப்பு நிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளது.
அரசு கேபிள் டிவி நிறுவனம், கட்டண சேனல் தொலைக்காட்சிகளுக்கும் வழங்கும் மாத சந்தா தொகையை குறைக்கும் படி கோரி வந்தது.. இரு தரப்பினருக்கும் இடையே பேச்சு வார்த்தைகள் முடிவுக்கு வராத நிலையில் கடந்த மாதம் 26 ஆம் தேதி அன்று தமிழ் நாளிதழில், 25 தேதி என குறிப்பிடப்பட்டு மீடியா புரோ நிறுவனம் விநியோகம் செய்யும் சேனல்களுக்கு பொது அறிவிப்பு நோட்டிஸ் வெளியிட்டது.
21 நாள் நோட்டிஸ் காலம் முடிவுக்கு வந்த நிலையில் மீடியா புரோவின் பிரபலமான பல சேனல்களின் ஒளிபரப்பு அனேக இடங்களில் நிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
இதனால் என்ன நடக்குமோ என்ற நிலையில் ஆப்ரேட்டர்கள் பரிதவிக்கும் நிலை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது... பாதிப்பு யாருக்கு என்ற தொனியில் பலதரப்பு பட்டிமன்றங்கள் தொலைபேசியில் களைகட்ட தொடங்கியுள்ளது.
இது ஆரம்பம்தான்... மீடியா புரோவை அடுத்து MSM sony, STAR Sports மற்றும் TEN Sports சேனல்களுக்கும் 21 நாள் நோட்டிஸ் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
எனவே தமிழக மக்கள் இனி பிரபல வட இந்திய சேனல்களை பார்க்க முடியாமல் போகும் நிலையில் DTH அந்த இடங்களை ஆக்கிரமித்து இணைப்புகள் பறிபோகும் அபாயம் ஏற்படுமோ என்ற நிலையில் ஆப்ரேட்டர்கள் பரிதவிப்பில் உள்ளனர்.
கடை கோடி ஆப்ரேட்டர்கள் காப்பாற்றப்படுவார்கள் என்ற தமிழக முதல்வரின் அவர்களின் உறுதிமொழியை காப்பாற்றும் விதத்தில்... அரசு கேபிள் டிவி தக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து சரியான தீர்வு கான வேண்டும் எனவும் ஆப்ரேட்டர்கள் விரும்புகின்றனர்.
அரசு கட்டுப்பாட்டு அறையில்... சன் டிவி என்ற சேனல் இல்லாமேலே 9 மாதங்கள் ஆப்ரேட்டர்களுக்கு எந்த பாதிப்பும் இன்றி ...அதை நடத்தியும் காட்டியுள்ளது என்பதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Arasu cable switches off Mediapro channels as the 21 days notice period ends.
State-owned Arasu Cable TV Corporation had issued a 21-day mandatory disconnection notice on 25th December, informing its subscribers and linked local cable operators (LCOs) that the Media Pro distributed channels are liable for disconnection due to breach of letter of acceptance and non-conclusion of price negotiation.
Arasu is asking for a 50 per cent reduction in subscription fee from Media Pro, which the latter is reluctant to agree upon.
As of today the notice period ends and hence the management has decided to deactivate the following channels; NGC, Pogo, NDTV24X7, CNNIBN, NDTV Profit, HBO, Z-Cinema, Z-studio, Z-classic, Z-telugu, Starplus, Cartoon n/w, & Fox traveller.
Arasu, provides cable TV services at Rs. 70 per month and enjoys a subscriber base of 6.21 million across Tamilnadu. It has an operator base of 24,619 spread across the state. Arasu provides around 100 channels that include free-to-air (FTA) channels, pay channels and local cable channels.
When Arasu was able to sustain successfully in business without a single Sun Network channel for over 9 months, it can very well successfully operate without MediaPro channels for some time.
Now the ball is in MediaPro's court and they have to decide their future in TN. Hope a mutually beneficial agreement is reached so Arasu can enter Chennai with a BANG
