You cannot say whether a region contributes or does not contribute to Hindi GECs. If there is a market to produce in the local language, a channel may be launched. Zee or Viacom18 might launch or acquire an Assamese channel but Star will never do so. Star is the least bothered about smaller regional languages.

Yeah that is right, that Star never wants to earn in small bits, but they may acquire small ones, can't that be a possibility? Like acquiring Tarang TV and Rang TV??? Even if that provides less money, still their reach increases. Yes we can tell that they may not "launch new channels", but they can acquire old ones, right? The entire South bouquet of Star GECs are acquired ones.

I do not agree. Asianet, Maa and Suvarna were different; those were acquisitions to enter big markets with a big potential, and now Star Maa is in the national top 5. Odia, Assamese, Gujarati, Punjabi and Bhojpuri aren’t really big enough for Star to even acquire existing channels. Zee acquired Sarthak TV but that is a different story.

Is there any possibility of Sun Networks launching any Hindi/Odia/Assamese channel(s)?
I don't have hopes with Sony launching channels, cause their mainstream SONY ET is itself suffering from low TRP. Also, Sony Aath may not ever air originals, Sony Marathi also has low viewership.
Regarding Viacom 18, Colors Telugu is launched on Voot with dubbed Telugu shows (I don't know if ever they would get a channel too, as it may replace/clash ETV Telugu). Colors Malayalam is a possibility though, but Colors needs to regain it's power in Bangla, Tamil, Odia and Gujarati markets and maintain dominance in Marathi and Kannada markets.
Zee has a wide range of channels (TV, Bangla, Big Ganga, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Keralam, Punjabi). Only ones left are Assamese and Gujarati (Gujarati was closed in 2009, so may never reopen).
Star's only left ones are Odia (maybe via Tarang TV) and Assamese (if Rang TV is possible). It will never venture into Bhojpuri, Punjabi and Gujarati market.

Star network in bhojpuri, punjabi and gujarati is like dream , if they launch in this languages they may lose their hindi tv channel viewership as I came to know Gujrati people watch hindi channels a lot may be because of lack of gujju channels. So Star, Sun and Sony not possible in small language markets.

Yes! That's the reason Zee TV TRP ratings are falling because Zee is the only network who is endlessly interested to exapand their network in terms of channel count but they're doing stupidity because most people of different region contribute their viewersship in hindi GEC and as we all know zee has expanded in so much languages that people watch the regional one rather than hindi of zee.

It's because of Punjabi and Bhojpuri, Zee made mistake launching punjabi and bhojpuri channels their some viewers may have got lost because of this only!

Star is doing great by not launching channels in small tv market and others like gujarati, punjabi, etc. Or else they may lose their viewers like Zee and in coming days it may be Viacom will lose if they launch bhojpuri or punjabi channel even they have gujarati channels
