DTH operators already launched Hybrid boxes(TATA binge/Airtel Xstream), so they can earn money from OTT distribution also, but cable guys are still rely on STB/TV subscription.
Problem with cable operators is that they are not ready to adapt to changes and want to work like government officers. In Delhi NCR still they won’t provide HD boxes in most areas. If you ask for it they are adamant. For this reason I switched to Tata Play in 2016. Forget hybrid boxes, they won’t take that initiative.

I Don't Agree With You Bro!

MSOs Unable To Crack Good Deals With Broadcasters, That's Why They Are Afraid Of This,,,

In Other Things (Can't Disclose) Also They Are Playing Unethical With Broadcasters,,,,

These Are All Made Them To File Petition
I think they will activate premium channels of big 3 (1 or 2 channles of each with a la carte price) on their networks, if court rejects AIDCF plea.

But yes their stand to not adopt Nto with increased prices might help consumers

As for now, they are doing more harm than good...
It has hampered the viewing experience of the customers. Yes, I do agree that customers are not supposed to pay an extra fee and standing against this wave is a good initiative by cable operators and MSO's...
As a result of this, ultimately cable TV services are going to loose subscribers, who'll shift to DTH's( or OTT)

Its a loss for Broadcaster's side due to Ad revenue might decrease in coming days as blackout continues, other channels benefit.

Is there any reason why Viacom18 is not doing this? Because Reliance owns Hathway, GTPL and Den and so it won’t remove its channels from its own cable platforms?

What about TN? I don’t see channels being removed from SCV or TCCL. Maybe because Sun TV is so predominant in TN? Or Star/Sony/Zee have a better relationship with MSOs in TN?

How customers shift to dth by paying thousands ?
People must support cable , as they stand for them

What's the ultimate goal for customers? Viewing experience, watching their favourite shows on TV....
For this, either they're going to switch to DTH or OTT...
People might have a valid point to refute against MSO's, "If DTH Opeartors are OK with this shift then why not Cable operators?"

Although now everything depends on what court opines, it would ultimately decide the fate of Cable TV in India

Cable operators not ok with it because they care about their customers budget
