What's the ultimate goal for customers? Viewing experience, watching their favourite shows on TV....
For this, either they're going to switch to DTH or OTT...
People might have a valid point to refute against MSO's, "If DTH Opeartors are OK with this shift then why not Cable operators?"

Although now everything depends on what court opines, it would ultimately decide the fate of Cable TV in India
DTH providers slowly launch DPO packs as most users on long term packs, so they can face heat of price hike after some months. Cable tv viewers are face immediate price hike due to All broadcaster packs opted by MSO/LCO, but short term DTH viewers opted for 5 to 10 pay channels, not all boutiques of all broadcasters.

Cable operators not ok with it because they care about their customers budget
Actually they don't. They worry about their customer base. Which is already declining (same as DTH) and revenue is also not at the expected level. So a steep hike in packages may erode their subscriber base even more. This impacts the Cable TV providers more because their ARPU isn't high.

Is there any reason why Viacom18 is not doing this? Because Reliance owns Hathway, GTPL and Den and so it won’t remove its channels from its own cable platforms?

What about TN? I don’t see channels being removed from SCV or TCCL. Maybe because Sun TV is so predominant in TN? Or Star/Sony/Zee have a better relationship with MSOs in TN?
Looks like Zee have been blocked in some rural areas not sure about Star...

In karnataka region, Sun network and Colors (etv Kannada) already had the maximum sealing price before NTO 2.0, and cable operators were ok with that. Now as other broadcasters rushing towards max price, the cries comes with cable association.

Didn't understand the logic of cable association. It's upto customer to choose what he wants to watch for his budget.

Broadcaster increase prices of boutiques & secondary channels and most of MSO/LCOs subscribe all boutiques of all networks, thats the problem. If people can subscribe only 1 premier/primary channel of each network, then only broadcasters might realize, whats the use of secondary channels and useless boutiques.

Now i think Reliance/Viacom18 behind this, doesn't effect their channels and available everywhere. Master blaster Mukesh Ambani uncle:lol:
They didn't increase prices of boutiques as abnormal like STAR (approx 25% increase) and networks like TIMES, SUN & ETV group also not disconnected them for non sign of NTO 3.0 RIO.
