Trai Channel Selector is now available bro. Cable tv viewers can change their package through this app. However, they cannot pay or activate their STB online. They are bound to pay bill to LCO only.

Cable don't carry all broadcaster packs like DTH does. That is why I shifted to DTH.

LCO can’t change packs as per user needs, they simply implements General package or all in one pack for all users.

They can't but don't want to take hassle for enabling for every user.

LCO's can change packs as per customer needs they have that relevant portal wherin they can access and change individual customer pack, I have my custom pack as well, but they try and push general packs to customers, Here at In digital MSO, they have an app, they have channel selector online.

Only thing that they might find it difficult to do it for every customer, they can instead pass on their apps, they can promote TRAI channel selector, they can pass that selection burden to customer.

But then customer would know exact pack price and also the difference that they're paying.

And the lack of knowledge is also the factor. In my village, when I asked my LCO how many cable boxes are left in the village. He told me that his boxes are decreased when dishtv (he meant DDFD) came in market and started major channels like Sab, Colors, etc. (he meant Pal, Rishtey, etc.) free to air. Then he told me that dishtv removed those channels from their platform so, now viewers are subscribing cable again. And, he don't even know what is Trai Channel Selector App. He has his LCO web portal. That's it.

Will MSO's sign the new NTO RIO with that broadcaster, is signing the old NTO RIO still allowed, or an interim/A-la-Carte arrangement?

Some Cable TV Operators doesn't provide good services to Customers. That's why peoples are shifting from Cable TV to Tata Play , D2H , Jio Fiber and Airtel Xstream Fiber. As they give proper services to Customers.
