is it i required to chose tamil free pack from boquet list in selfcare app? or Tamil free channels will be part of FTA channels default which is charged@153?
Yes. Atleast this is how it is in Airtel.

These operators are packing useless channels of their choice into the 100 channels@₹153 pack. Don't get misguided by some here who give twisted answers and make it very ambiguous.

So, for any specific channel / bouquet you want (and not part of the operator defined base package of 100 channels for which you have to pay ₹153 compulsorily), you need to pay extra. If it's a FTA channel/bouquet, then you have to pay just the carriage fee (as per the operators bundling..) or if it's a paid channel/bouquet, then you have to pay the package fee & carriage fee.

If you'll take 100 FTA channels provided by airtel then it may or may not be part of it & if you'll take separately then you need to pay extra capacity fee + MRP (if pay).

If you'll select channels of your choice then you need to select Tamil free bouquet by just paying the NCF.

You're free to select 75 channels out of 100 channels of your choice by just paying the NCF (if FTA) or by paying the NCF+MRP (if pay).

Partially incorrect understanding (Highlighted in bold). Customers are free to choose 75 channels, it is not mandatory to take the channels that the DPO offers in 153 pack. If customer chooses 75 FTA channels, then nothing extra will be charged. If customer chooses a combination of Pay and FTA channels (Total 75), Pay channel MRP plus taxes needs to be paid in addition to 153.

And coming to Airtel, I haven't seen them providing any basic pack of 153 rupees consisting only FTA channels. They are offering different packs to different customers, but they are at much higher price. They are charging an NCF of 153 up to 100 channels and allowing the customers to choose 75 channels, excluding 25 DD channels which are mandatory.

You can take a look at the packs chosen by our members starting from first post of this thread for better understanding.

What happens if we want to change the packs or add few more channels after we have submitted the request and got a reference number. Should we repeat the procedure again or just update our package and add channels. Has anyone tried it.

Just submit again new pack.
your new pack will consider.

Yeah bro, but I haven't seen those packs in self care.
Yes, it's not available in self care but it is available in consumer corner.
Seems that they don't want us to take the FTA pack that's why no option to select it.

Fair enough.

Hi All,

Currently im paying Rs 5,999/6,999/7,999 (I paid last Feb & they said first time its slightly costly and second time its Rs 5,999 or 6,999 per yr for infinity pack) and each additional connection its either Rs 275 per month or Rs 3,025 per year for the same infinity pack.

How will the new TRAI rule affect my subscription? I dont see this infinity pack anywhere, has it got costlier or simply removed? Hope they dont suddenly disconnect the service.

Thanks.
