100 initial channels & 130 max is what is officially mentioned, 1.3 for 1SD channel is a logical division agreed but is not mentioned anywhere.

So does TRAI order say that all have to take 100 SD channels even if they dont want ???
Does it say that DPO can charge RS 130 even if a user takes 5 channel ???

there isn't any option of 5 channels because 25 DD channels is mandatory
Also there's a mention "Maximum Fixed Amount" in clause 80 page 46.

What I'm Waiting for is Fastway NCF Document in particular, since they've mentioned .80NCF per channel on EPG (I Think It's the same strategy like Colors is saying Re.1 per day)

If its not written, how is fastway charging NCF on per channel basis ??? And see all MSO/DTH who have released FTA packs, they have stated Rs 130 for 100+ FTA channels in BST, and that is not mandatory for a users to opt for. If i want i can take 1 Pay channel and pay the channel price + NCF for that 1 channel

@Siva bro pls can u quote the clause TRAI order where DPO can charge NCF per channel/pack wise
Fastway understood the order properly, which is why they have defined NCF at channel level.

No @Anish Pai bro, I don't think TRAI specifically says that NCF can be charged per channel in the order. But that's what is the underlying meaning. They have set the maximum limit and aren't restricting DPOs w.r.t. minimum limit. So, if DPOs are not providing a pack below 130, nobody can question that. That's the exact problem I was mentioning yesterday. Siti Cable is charging 130 for all the customers per the brochure I shared, regardless of the number of channels he/she wants.

25 DD channels u dont have to pay any charges or NCF.

For removal of any doubt it is hereby clarified that such bouquet shall be one of the options available to a subscriber. However, the subscriber, as per his requirement, shall have complete freedom to choose either bouquet of basic service tier or any other bouquet of pay channels or any other bouquet of free-to-air channels or a-la-carte pay channels or a-la-carte free-to-air channels available on the platform of the distributor of television channels or a combination thereof.

Now it doesnt say one has to opt for 100 channels mandatory if one is taking ala carte pay/FTA channels. One can even take 1 channel, ot 3 or 5 or 10 as per his wish and pay NCF for those many subscribed channels

"The framework stipulates a network capacity fee with UPPER CEILING of Rs. One hundred and thirty (Rs. 130/-) for one hundred (100) channels."

UPPER CEILING. Do you know what it means? It means maximum, not minimum. Some people won't understand these simple things and the DPOs will take advantage of that.

Where did this come from?
"Within the distribution network capacity subscribed, in addition to channels notified by Central Government to be mandatorily provided to all the subscribers" page 11 first line

@Anish Pai bro, you are free to interpret how you want to, in the end we'll end up paying an NCF what our DPO decides.:hands:

The above news from a leading telugu daily says, 130 is mandatory and one has to pay extra for telugu paid channels. They say, to watch all the available telugu channels FTA+Paid, one has to pay 243+GST.

For a normal Tamil HD User the calculation works out like this

For first 100 FTA Channels with NCF and taxes based on Airtel All India FTA Pack the cost comes to Rs.153

For Pay Channels Boquets

Times Group HD Boquet Rs.20
Jaya Tv Boquet Rs.10.50
Zee Tamil HD Boquet Rs.22
Discovery Sports HD Boquet Rs.8.5
SPN HD Premium Boquet Rs.50
Star Tamil HD Premium Boquet Rs.110
Sun HD Boquet Rs.35
Aditya Rs.10
Nick Rs.6

Total Cost of FTA Boquet : 153
Total Cost of Pay Boquet : 272
Pay Boquet Taxes : 48.96
Total Cost : 473.96

Currently Paying Rs.400 without English Movies & Entertainment Channels but at Rs.75 extra I'll be getting Sony,Times & Star Group English Channels or I may even continue without English Channels so that I can reduce Overall Cost.

If there is some kind of discounts provided by Operators and I guess there will be upto 10% discount from 474 which will keep the subscription below Rs.450/-

So for 400 - 500 Monthly spenders TRAI Tariff order might provide some extra channels from Specific Broadcaster Boquet.
You forgot to add NCF for the pay channels.
