Connect TV and STB via HDMI
STB and HT via optical ... You will have to switch to secondary audio if available to experience DD sound on STB ... You will be able to decode DD sound

If optical is not available .... Coaxial output must be available that has to be used .... again that depends on your HT connectivity options.

You may use spdif then to connect STB to HT.
