So either I have to upgrade my STB to 2222 or newer version or get the Spdif/Optical converter to Get DD since there is no coaxial in port in my HT.

I have 2011 box and it is working fine over HDMI

First check your STB firmware version in Settings > Device/Product Info.


For 2011 STB (black box) it should be 45
For 2222/2233 (White box) it should be 18 or 19


If it doesnt match, call CC to get the firmware updated. If the software is up to date, check the language setting in the channel and make sure its set to dolby digital.

I have a black box but my id is 18!! Anyother way to check.

This will serve your need.... But these converters costs near 1500Rs.

And all converters of top brands too, will reduce signal quality.

I will recommend new HD box as a better option and use arc hdmi feature.

Subject to: I assume your tv is having minimum 2 hdmi ports and one of them is arc enabled.

I think optical should be from STB to HT.
