A clear picture will emerge, only when complete digitisation takes place. Due to stiff competition, digital cable as well DTH will offer lucrative terms to customers. There are advantages and disadvantages on both systems. Digital cable will be operated by same cable operators, who are accustomed to their practises, and DTH have the same problem of transponder shortage and rain outage.

But y dth's are forcing tamil people to watch other language chanels like hindi, mal, telugu, kanada, oriya in tamil basic packages. Dth's service providing 22tamil chanels only in their basic packageof tamil viewers. And othe 90chanels are other language chanels in tamil base pack. While dth doing tis Tamil feed chanels like natgeo, discovery and disney xd, cn etc are not in tamil base pack...... Why cant they remove other language chanels in tamil base pack and add tamil feed infotain, kid chanels in tamil base pack..... Y vinay....

It is not only for tamil viewers, all are facing the same problem. Mumbai customers are also forced to watch / pay for oriya, punjabi and bengali channels.

Competition is always beneficial to customers.

I will be highly happy if DTH providers give us Rs. 150 pm Lowest Pack with basic channels due to tigh competition.

Wait till pan India roll out to Digital Cable.
