RE: few important points comparison
I like this type of thread. Verry good Thread starter.
I use Dish TV & D2H. Both DTH + / - points as below.
NOTE: Check desired feature before buy either DTH. Software upgrade may changes feature which mentioned in below comparison.
Dish TV: When u press any channel no & it is approximate no (no any on that number) till Dish tv select automatically nearest no. of that approx no.
D2H: You need to press exact channel otherwise no result.
Dish TV: Dish TV shows 20 minute preview of MOD between running MOD movie.
D2H: Only preview in mosaic & entire movie in mobile tv size screen but no audio if you not subscribed for the movie.
Dish TV: Mosaic removed already before long time (6 Mosaic windows)
D2H: 12 Mosaic screens (Audio only for subscribed channels)
Dish TV: Games changes few times.
D2H: Games removed. Games were only 3.
Dish TV: Non Traspherent OSD
D2H: Transferent OSD
Dish TV: favourities list optional 8. List can includes all channels.
D2H: This is D2H's Unique & Great feature. 4 Channel list for only 20 channels & user can arrage as his / her choice serially in group of 1-20, 21-40, 41-60, 61-80 like ordinary TV system & no need to remember a channel number.
Dish TV: Parental Lock as general as other DTH.
D2H : This is also great feature where they provide option to skip desired channel. I Liked That.
Dish TV: Menu style is capture most of space of the screen.
D2H: Menu is short whenever you select an option & after selection an option it goes full of screen but transpherent.
Dish TV: Interactive services are information based like Monsterjobs, shadi, paid serivecs & free are games.
D2H: Music (paid service) 12 TV active servies including unfamous tv like DD channles & Few zee & ETV & Other channles. Quality is mobile tv quality.
Dish TV: Non stop movie channel. No preview. Paid channel. 16 movies in a month.
D2H: 3 channels. Free from basic pack to advanced pack. Depend on pack. repeat same movies on 3 channels. Overall good.
Dish TV: Dish TV early taking too long time to start & it forced me to deactive the connection.
D2H: It too take long time but not same as dish tv. U can wait for few seconds / minute.
Dish TV: When u on the stb direct you switch to ch. no 999 / other particular channel in few cases (for example: early when there were showing Indian Cricket matches Dish tv were directly switch to relevent channel when u on stb)
D2H: D2H continuous from last channel number when u off stb last time. Rarely it start with specific channel numbers.
Dish TV: Early dish tv shows a slide ad when u start stb. You disturb badly by that.
D2H: D2H (dont know SD box but about D2H DVR) was showing welcome screen for few seconds before but now it doesnt shows welcome screen & switch to direct channel.
Dish TV: Picture Quality: Weak & Good for few channels. Maximum channels are in average quality.
D2H: (Talking about DVR) Few channels are good. Most channels are little less than average. I use 29 inch CRT TV.
Dish TV: Electronic program guide for only Dish TV channels except few not for DD Direct FTA channels. electronic program guide for 7 days but I think they shows of 3 days only. When I tried to watch 4th & more day It took long time & left to try.
D2H: Electronic program guide for all channels. Only few channel dont have electronic program guide. 7 Days programming list. I didnt check program schedule is right / not of 4 th & above days.
Dish TV: Dish TV shares DD Direct satellite also. In bad wheather DD's channel get no signal first & in heavy bad wheather Dish TV get no signal.
D2H: This face problem in only bad / heavy bad wheather.
Dish TV : Dish TV flashes VC number many & unlimited times only on Dish TV's channel's screen. Background color black & not traspherent.
D2H : It shows alphabetic number few times & background is transpherent. Very nice.
Dish TV: No break free movie channel free for a month subscription.
D2H: Now all 3 break free movie channel are free to all viewers.
D2H: D2H shows maximum 16 channels in 4 categories as a part of active services in small windows (change in 3/4 of the screen after selection) & no program guide. (Mobile quality)
Dish TV: Live Darshan in small window & no enlarge after selection.
Dish TV: 22 FTA live radio channels (no xtra information with those) from DD Direct + (active customers only)
D2H : 20 Pay radio channels under 20 categories with information.
Dish TV: running ad on start the box & it takes more than 1 minute to start
D2H: No add & No welcome page (removed already) at start up
Dish TV : start with ch no. 999
D2H: Start with last viewed channel number (if box is in stand by / on status for long time)
Dish TV : Dish TV shares 3 Satellites (DD & Dish TV - for all & Asiasat 5 - for HD & monoblock subscribers) Mostly Dish TV doesnt quite focus to dish tv satellite & cause of not maximum signal strength.
D2H: Totally focus on D2H satellite & try to get max strength.
Dish TV: few SD channels are part of Asiasat 5 & non HD / non monoblock users cant receive those channels even its part of their basic package.
D2H: No issue.
Dish TV : Dish TV Information Video & Ads on their home channel.
D2H offer now a paid radio with their home channel.
Dish TV : No universal remote.
D2H : Recently comes with Universal Remote.
Dish TV : Packages are mostly incompleted.
D2H : Packages mostly with all channels in it's genre.
