what does the IMPRESSIONS mean in BARC ratings? how do we know any channel's daily/weekly viewership? can we know a program's viewership of a channel (like foreign countries US, UK, etc.)

what does the IMPRESSIONS mean in BARC ratings? how do we know any channel's daily/weekly viewership? can we know a program's viewership of a channel (like foreign countries US, UK, etc.)

Impression means number of individuals among thousand targeted people where an event or show was watched. This is also known as television viewership in thousands.

BARC conducts surveys and based on that they select various households across the country in which a special device called BAR-O-Meter is installed to collect TV viewing data.

Also, finding out channel ratings in the USA is easy.
There are many websites for them. TV is going downhill there even compared to 5 years ago. Ratings are bottom of the barrel now.
