Haters are still gonna find ways to hate it anyway. Also controversy creates crash not boycotts. Problem with recent flops is inflation. People aren't willing to spend as much as money as makers were getting. On top of that OTT gap is also shrinking.

In South people worships stars. They would spend money on movies like a drunk at a night bar irrespective of their income. So the comparison is not fair. In the meantime Star needs to realistically charge for the movie. Also ticket and food prices at theatres needs to come out.

And there is another factor of people aren't appreciate of good content. Just look at how much a movie like Gangs of Wasseypur did. LSC having low turnout isn't a shocker. Just let any Rohit Shetty type movie release. It will instantly become a theatre hit.

Recent movies are flop due to inflation? I can't understand how this inflation is causing only some movies to become flop. Let's take the case of MCU this year, both of their movies crossed 100 Cr in Indian BO and that means only one thing, content and viewing experience still remains at the top to pull viewers. Boycott calls are causing little bit trouble but still if the content is good then boycotting won't have any effect. Regarding OTT gap also I can say the same thing, bring on contents which values the money and time of audience and we can see people going to theater.

Pandemic caused a shift in the mindset of people going into theaters. Audience now wants to watch movies in the theater for theatrical experience only. For other type, they will wait till OTT.

South people are not watching all movies of their favorite stars like drunk and here also movies lacking content is failing. All South movies are not blockbusters as well. Bringing down prices of everything isn't the solution and it isn't possible. But Stars must ask payments realistically.
This is the main reason where movies goes flop. Seriously saying Robo 2.O, Pushpa, KGF2 not even Kashmir Files satisfied with their Hype.
Production team must do normal promotions and let the audience bring in hype.

Recent movies are flop because of the OTT gap. Also inflation is the case for downward spiral of the theatre industry. With the shortening of gap in OTT release. It isn't worth paying a premium price for the theatrical experience. MCU movies are connected. So are movies like KGF 2. There is curiosity among audience. Hence, goes to watch these movies. Tbf it is not movies taking a hit. There is slow in sales of TV. Earlier TVs use to sell like hot cakes during IPL. Video games and short videos also are taking over movies as form as entertainment. Also people are nowadays more invested in webseries than movies. South movies which doesn't good in theatre doesn't have star power backing it. Otherwise most South movies backed by big stars does really good.
