Bro, everyone has feelings. Airtel users has been not able to watch Once in a Lifetime events like some matches of FIFA World Cup 2022 in HD. They have brought expensive TVs not to watch content on HD. While Tata Sky has always given priority to staying relevant by offering niche service offerings and HD channels. Airtel is always behind. Crime shows of HD has way less demand than HD music channels where customers demands superior audio quality. In this day and age of 4K TVs. Adding SD channels, leaving HD addition for several years will draw criticism. Tata Play has very few HD channels left to add. Meanwhile Airtel is still not compensating viewers after the shutdown of Sony Rox HD.

Completely disagree....barring viacom18 HD channels and some of the recently launched disney-star HD channels, Airtel Digital TV has been regularly adding all popular SD as well as HD channels.....list is big as far as addition after Sony Rox HD is concerned, post NTO implementation speed of addition gained good momentum as was expected bcoz advance deals were bot required hence Airtel did not have to worry much about high investment in beginning itself while remaining assured to get good subscription revenue which would be shared depending on which channels customers opt for thereby helping expand its mass + niche offerings / audience base....also post NTO all operators got channels/bouquets from various broadcasters at same pricing unlike previous regulations where bigger/stronger operators got huge discounts in advance payment RIOdeals (which were of annual / semi annual or even longer periods) with various broadcasters while others got less discounts thus again NTO helped operators like Airtel Digital TV to expand its offerings by bringing more channels on its platform.

Tata Play too avoided adding And Xplor HD for many years and even earlier pre 2016 added many channels be it mass or niche despite having some bandwidth.

There r other HD channels like from ETV, Tarang or recently added Zee Picchar HD, Sony Ten 4 HD etc whose addition has been delayed across various cable or DTH Platforms bcoz of possibly various reasons so operators cannot be solely blamed for the same

Look once again bro!

You will see 95% of Airtel Digital TV users make fun of Airtel Digital TV and 5% are those who are new members or members who haven't shared which DTH service they use.

On the different side of the table, members using Tata Sky don't criticise because with time they have added all the required channels if we see only Hindi channels. Airtel Digital TV is still lacking behind with some basic and demanding SD & HD channels not being added. The Next main motive of Tata Play is to add Regional channels which have been pending since the launch of the new satellite.

Testing of some Regional channels has also started. See how fast Tata Sky is!

Now user who speaks language other than Hindi also watches Hindi channels. So channels are available for them.
Bhau, Already answered ur questions abive so won't repeat myself

i have always stated that there is unnecessary criticism made against Airtel Digital TV at various instances while if similar steps/decisions r taken by Tata Play then it is not usually questioned.

Anyways had Airtel Digital TV services and offerings been so bad as it is made to be by some members in this forum and had many customers been unsatisfied then it would have lost large chunk of subscriber base in last few years but reality is that "Airtel Digital TV subscriber base has shown steady growth all thru the past years despite all the challenges faced in the broadcast industry and Team Airtel have constantly worked to improve its service/product offerings thereby gaining customer trust/loyalty "......had Tata Play been so good it would have left Airtel Digital TV far behind in the DTH Segment which has not happened

Viacom18 and Disney Star are flagship broadcasters. You cannot ignore channekd if them. Most of &Xplore HD's library is aired on it's sister channels Zee Cinema HD and & Pictures HD. Zee itself is compensating it's viewers. I won't point fingerpoint at Tata Sky for this. Sports and News are keeping TV alive. Even the broadband users reactives their connection around IPL and ICC World Cup for uninterrupted experience. You cannot ignore them.

These regional channels have limited appeal. Yet, these are still continuously getting added on Tata Play. While Airtel doesn't even care of it's core users. Airtel selling bundles of broadband, tv and postpaid. These mostly appeals to youth. Don't they think same youth are fans of FIFA World Cup, La Liga, Serie A or ISL? Don't they watch MTV? Even Sun Direct a regional DTH provider has these channels.

There is wrong perception in market that Airtel is an premium brand. So they are better than premium in what? Just pricing. What special do they even offer? They always played second fiddle. Their Airtel TV (Airtel Xstream TV) came ages before Tata Play Binge. They had not one but two competitors JioTV+ and Tata Play Binge. They downgraded their offering over the years. Hilariously, Watcho's offering is better than Airtel now.

Another thing to add @dino29 bhai. Tata Play users are more thankful to Tata Play because they get 7 FTA HD channels. Also they are the only provider along with DD FreeDish where they can watch important national events like inauguration of Ram Temple and Republic Day Parade on HD. I dare Airtel to think beyond profits for consumers sometimes.

One more thing to add, Tata Play provides free 5 minute preview of premium HD and SD channels which other DTH services won't provide.

This free preview makes it visually easy for the user to subscribe if they want to.
