Discussion General Discussions, News & Updates On Indian TV Channels

Expecting the long due change of Turner International India rebranding into WarnerMedia India soon.

WarnerMedia India

WM now has a landing page for India with few more backend changes happening indicating switch from Turner to Warner.
Yes. India is the only country where HBO operates under the Turner name. I hope WarnerTV is brought soon to India.

Chitrapat Marathi and Maharashtra 1 News have been shut down
Since when? Never heard anything about the shutdown of Maharashtra 1. Chitrapat was there a couple of years ago on DDFD but nobody knows what happened to that channel afterwards.

Chitrapat Marathi channel didnt had good movies and all were old movies also hindi movies were shown on that channel because of which people stopped watching that channel and the channel got shutdown

Good effect that OTT brought about for tv - older shows / movies coming back. Happened as broadcasters realised viewers r watching more of these online

What about Maharashtra 1? Has it really shut down? Where is Nikhil Wagle working currently?

Actually HBO exited India in 2014 itself lisencing the brand name to Turner India and Content to STAR India.

Turner used to b their subsidiary, they just stopped operating indian chs from Hong Kong and gave responsibility to its Indian office. Star got agreement to distribute HBO Premium chs and acquired original shows. Its not like HBO had quit from here. Now under new owners changes r happening to rebrand as well as maybe have operational makeover
