There r many channels which deserve just single feed rather than both sd and hd. Like &tv, Star Bharat should have just SD feed.... Comedy Central, Colors Infinity, Star World should have either sd or hd feed except if they intend to showcase diff content on both feeds. Same goes for English Movie Channels. Also channels like Disney International, &Xplor need to b made available for sd viewers too either by starting separate feed or downscaling hd feed

I will elaborate once more in details. Primarily diff feeds r needed when u r trying to reach out varied viewer base. Star Plus can cater to both general and affluent audience by having both feeds, also economics work out well bcoz of popularity of the channel. Come to English GEC which itself caters to niche base so having both feeds is useless in India unless viewer base exponentially grows or broadcasters intend to have diff content on both feeds.

About last point i did not said that Disney International and &Xplor should have both feeds. I just said that it should b available to sd viewers either thru downscaling or separate feed as deemed appropriate

Even I Expecting same for Star Gold Select, Star Gold Select HD Feed only Required as Premium mode and SGS SD should Rebrand as Star Gold Family.

In my opinion Sony Max 2 HD, Colors Cineplex Bollywood HD (or whatever name Viacom18 wants to keep) and Star Gold 2 HD should be launched in the coming few years. SG2 HD should have a family/dubbed Hollywood focus and UTV HD should be closed. UTV HD in its current form is useless and the only good reason it exists is only to show movies like Dangal which are owned by another network (here Zee) but cannot be shown on Star-branded channels.

Also, more than launching &xplor SD, the distribution of the existing HD channel must be improved greatly as currently very few people know of this excellent channel (not even ADTV users, even though they actually have it unlike other DTHs) because of the non-existence of promotions from Zee’s end.
