To launch in odia they took many years so soon Disney-Star will not launch any channel in regional presently zee is the only broadcaster who has launched their channels in all region.

Zee was the 1st network to launch gec channels in South regions they acquired alpha brand channels like,

ALPHA GUJRATI
ALPHA MARATHI
ALPHA BANGLA
ALPHA TELUGU

They launched zee kannada separately in 2006.

Zee classic doing fantastic job airing many classic films from different banners I think the channel should be added in DDFD. It will get fantastic ratings.

Zee is sharing its movie library with so many FTA chs, no other broadcaster does this. This may help get revenue but zee is surely losing out on ratings as viewership gets divided among so many channels

Even star gold shared many movies from zee in beginning like baazigar, aitraaz, jeet, tirangaa and many more this is not permanent its just a short term deal.

That was not bcoz zee was sharing movies with rival star india but at that point (until 2000) star and zee had a joint venture under which zee tv was operated as hindi gec channel from hong kong. Star Plus was an English GEC channel airing international shows.

In 1996 Star TV split Star Plus into two feeds Star Plus which served Indian and Middle East audience with mostly Hindi content and some English content while 2nd feed Star World was seen in East and Southeast Asia airing english.

This is the period where u would have observed bollywood film library from zee getting aired on Star Plus as both these broadcasters were partners.
