RE: What is difference between Magnetic Azimuth of a satellite and Actual Azimuth ?

The azimuth of an object is the angular distance along the horizon to the location of the object. It determines the direction of the celestial body. By convention, azimuth is measured from north towards the east along the horizon. Now as there is a difference between geographical north and magnetic north so the angle varies. :k

3 different Norths used in Surveying / Mapping ; So u could have three different measures :k

I understand 2 but what is the 3rd one ?:huh

OK,
But which one is used to determine Azimuth of Geostationary satellites :Actual or Magnetic as given on Satbeams.com ?

It's 'Grid North' ;
Usually used when we do Surveying or prepare maps !
We can't find North when we work , so we mark a direction and call it as Grid North ; take all the necessary co-ordinate readings reference to Grid North. Then adjustment will be done with True North.

Normally during applications, only True North and Magnetic North are used :)

But why cannot you find north ? It's simple use a magnet :k

Magnet is not used in surveying. Don't remember the reason.

May be surveyors feel clumsy to mark two points using magnet ; instead mark two points & assume a Grid North from tht and finish the job.
Handling a compass & a total station (surveying equipment on a tripod) would be awkward ;)

In simple terms, when u move d dish left to right or vice versa... u set d azimuth angle. :k

So, basically its d left/right movement of d dish while finding d direction of any satellite

Yes,you are right.
But which one is used to find the left/right direction :Magnetic or Actual Azimuth or are they more or less same ?
Visit SatBeams - Home where you will find both on the left side column under "Footprints" when you click on your location.
