which HT you are planning to buy

I have Stereo Amplifier and two speaker(RCA). I want good quality stereo audio for HD channels (as no 5.1 audio is best). I will select stereo in STB. So i have below options,

1. Optical to RCA converter->Amplifier
2. HDMI to Optical converter to RCA->Amplifier.

If optical audio in stb(old Hawei STB) is best, i will go with option 1.
If HDMI Audio is best, i will go with option2.

Anyone using Hawei STB and Hometheatre, please help.

All front fine. But this is how u should place the speakers

From past 1 year i used ARC HDMI audio output..
Recently i tested sound with optical output (via TV, not via STB) and i was blown away with the sound quality.

In STB audio settings >> change HDMI audio to DD+ and output audio via TV.

If you output audio via STB >> Optical, then you would not get DD+, as output audio via STB supports only DD (i could be wrong here.. check before proceeding)
