Guys

I want to know how these new digitalization of cable networks work?

I mean, in past the cable operators needed to put several dish antennas on their roof to receive channels and to distribute them to customers.

But now when we have their digital STB for example I'm using DEN STB, the channels are much more than the past. There are many channels which were not present without digital STB.

Today when DEN added Magic Bricks NOW channel, I also got it automatically in my DEN STB although I live in a small town.

So do these STB use different method unlike previous dish antennas at cable operator's home?

Do cable operators use a single dish antenna to receive all channels from DEN and other MSO similar to DTH customers?

Experts please provide explanation and details Thanks.
