Also if they offers Ads for Ad Free Paid Premium internet connected OTT subscribers, then doesnt have much difference to cord cutters/Streaming or Satellite TV subscribers.

It depends upon personal preference of a viewer to watch IPL on Star Sports or Jio Cinema....as such most people r okay with ads unless these cause any overlapping with crucial moments in match like broadcaster / platform cutting over to ads when something important is happening on field

India is slowly moving towards DD free Dish, big companies like Star Jio are giving in to free mode,as they think they will get more advertisement revenue in this free mode

Well across the world,FTA+ Pay TV hybrid model is followed and is a success....both will see growth and so will OTT. Strategies will differ based on circumstances / requirements at that point of time which benefits everyone

Sports on OTT should be free, if they insert lot of ads. Apps should not like Hotstar, which charge Rs 1499 for 4K, but provide sports in HD with lot of ads.

This happened due to strategy of Jio where star was forced to do it. This is for initial days and slowly a subscription will be charged accordingly in coming years to recover the investment by these broadcasters.

Actually it's bad strategy be hotstar, Amazon or Jio Cinema airing with lot of ads. maybe they are clarifying OTTs are lite version of Satellite TV, also there will high possibility of leaving huge numbers streaming viewers once they realize OTTs are lite version of Unlimited ads airing Satellite TV.

Rs. 1099 Super+ plan provides ad free experience with Full HD streaming, Dolby Atmos Audio and supports simultaneous watching on 4 devices .

Premium plan which r talking about provides 4K streaming and ads r aired in it so that Disney+Hotstar is able generate additional revenue required to help provide additional features.

There is a balance which needs to maintained for investments and revenue, ads help provide premium features in affordable subscription plans to customers rather than keeping than charging more for it.

There r fewer people who opt for premium plans hence ads serve as key source of revenue , they can even provide Ad Free premium plan for Rs. 2000 but again there will be minute number of people opting for it. You need to understand why companies adopt a particular strategy for different plans or even for TV Channels what kind of contribution/role subscription and ad revenue play in channels belonging to different genres or types

If they charge Rs 1499 with lot of ads for additional features, then why they can’t provide 4K for live cricket or other premium sports like tennis till now as even they have production rights of BCCI and ICC, still they maintain 2018 picture quality on Hotstar

"Students bro Students"
Almost 70% of the total online digital viewers of IPL are Hostel Students. I experienced this thing when i was in hostel, we were more than 350 boys in our hostel and there were hardly 20 - 25 boys (including me) in our hostel who didn't subscribe hotstar for IPL. And in our University there are 6 hostels for boys and 3 for Girls.
So, no data issue for hostel students because, Universities provide unlimited data to students

Soon OTT platforms would b disallowing sharing of password among people to watch content on various devices using just single subscription .... To do so additional money would need to be paid.

Anyways OTT will continue to grow and Freemium model for earning revenue, already Netflix and Amazon Prime Video have started bringing cheaper plans which play ads during content. Disney+Hostar already provides so much content for free and revenue is earned thru ads....also they have economical plans which again earn in a particular ratio from subscription and ads depending on the variant. Even other OTT platforms have started to adopt this strategy
