The first week box office report of Thala's Vedhalam is out and it proves that he is right at the top, among the big five stars of Tamil cinema.
On its first seven days, the film has approximately collected 50cr at the Tamil Nadu box office. As the film has been sold at a reasonable price and the first two day box office collections were tremendous, distributors and theater owners are extremely overwhelmed with the response.
“We have bought the film for 3.20cr in our area but the first week collection itself 3.90cr. Undoubtedly, Vedhalam is one of the biggest hit among Ajith’s films so far”, said a distributor from Tamil Nadu.
“Though the film might not break any record outside TN, it’s doing remarkable business in the state and with tax exemption advantage, all the distributors have already recovered their investments”, said a source in Tamil Nadu trade.
