Mammootty's Puthan Panam: Release Postponed.

Mammootty, the megastar of Mollywood is joining hands with film-maker Ranjith once again, for the upcoming movie Puthan Panam. The movie, which is said to be an action thriller, was initially supposed to be released in April.

But now, the team has postponed the release of Puthan Panam to May. Recently, the sources close to the Mammootty project confirmed that the makers have finalised May 12 as the release date of the movie.

If the reports are to be believed, Puthan Panam has been postponed to May, as Mammootty's The Great Father is hitting the theatres on March 30. Reportedly, the makers want to avoid the competition with another Mammootty project.

Puthan Panam, which is scripted by director Ranjith himself, stars Mammootty as the central character Nithyananda Shenoy, a rich, middle-aged businessman who hails from Kumbala, of Kasargode district.

Interestingly, Mammootty will be using pure Kasargode dialect in the movie. The megastar's is also sporting a very different get-up in Puthan Panam, with salt n pepper hairstyle, silk shirt, and golden watch.

Om Prakash is the director of photography. Singer-musician Shahabaz Aman composes the songs and background score. Puthan Panam is produced by Ranjith, Abraham Mathew, and Arun Narayanan for 3 Colour Cinemas.

Oru Mexican Aparatha Fame Vishnu Govindan Turns A Director.

Oru Mexican Aparatha, which hit the theatres recently, has turned out to be a big hit at the box office. The entire cast of the movie has been receiving overwhelming reviews for the performances.

Especially, Vishnu Govindan who portrayed the role of Jomy in Oru Mexican Aparatha, has been receiving praises for his portrayal of the character in the film. The actor did an excellent job in the movie and set the humour quotient of the movie, intact.

Now, the Oru Mexican Aparatha fame actor is all set with his next venture, but this time he will be seen in the role of a director. The actor has helmed the upcoming film titled as History Of Joy, which has Vishnu Vinay, son of director Vinayan in the lead role.

Other actors of Oru Mexican Aparatha like Neeraj Madhav, Roopesh Peethambaran took to Facebook towish their co-star on his new venture.

Apart from Vishnu Vinay, the film also features, Saikumar and Vinay Forrt in important roles. Reportedly, the shoot of the film has been completed and the movie is gearing up to hit the theatres during the summer season.

Mohanlal's 1971 Beyond Borders Is A Multilingual.

1971 Beyond Borders, the upcoming Mohanlal starring war drama movie is one of the most-awaited projects of 2017. Interestingly, the movie is not just releasing in Malayalam but is hitting the theatres as a multilingual.

As per the reports, the Mohanlal movie is simultaneously releasing in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The distribution rights of the Hindi version has reportedly bagged by a prestigious Bollywood production banner.

The Telugu version of 1971 Beyond Borders, which has been titled as 1971 Baratha Sathiradu will release on April 7, on the same day of Malayalam release. The team is planning to release the Tamil and Hindi versions very soon.

The makers decided to release the movie in various languages, considering the successes of Kanupappa and Manyam Puli the Telugu versions of Oppam and Pulimurugan. Mohanlal has already made a place in Telugu industry, with the success of Janatha Garage.

1971 Beyond Borders, which is the fourth instalment of Major Mahadevan series, stars Mohanlal in double role, as Colonel Mahadevan and his father Sahadevan, a retired army officer. The movie is scripted by director Major Ravi himself.

Telugu actor Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunodhay Singh appear in pivotal roles in the movie. Renji Panicker, Saiju Kurup, Sudheer Karamana, Asha Sarath, Manikuttan, Krishna Kumar, etc., appear in the supporting roles.

Dulquer Salmaan-Bejoy Nambiar's Solo: Release Postponed.

Solo, the upcoming Dulquer Salmaan movie marks the Mollywood debut of popular film-maker Bejoy Nambiar. The much-awaited project, which is said to be an anthology film, was originally slated to release in May 2017.

But as the per the sources close to the project, the release of Solo has been postponed. The Dulquer Salmaan-Bejoy Nambiar has now been rescheduled to hit the theatres on June 23rd, Friday.

Initially, the team had decided to release Solo on May 11. But, the shooting was delayed unexpectedly in between, due to lead actor Dulquer Salmaan's other work commitments. The crew is currently busy with the second schedule shoot of Solo.

Solo, which is an anthology film which narrates five stories, will have Dulquer Salmaan playing the lead role in all the five. Interestingly, the Bejoy Nambiar movie will feature five female leads opposite Dulquer.

Malayalam actress Ann Augustine, model Arthi Venkatesh, Kannada actress Sruthi Hariharan, Marathi actress Sai Tamhankar, and Asha Jairam are the five heroines of Solo, which is scripted by director Bejoy himself.

Manoj K Jayan, Bollywood actor Prakash Belawadi, Bengali film-maker Quashiq Mukherjee aka Q, Thaikkudam Bridge fame Govind Menon, singer Siddharth Menon, Anson Paul, etc., in the supporting roles in Solo.

Honey Bee 2 Audio Launch: Vinayakan Honoured On The Occasion.

The audio launch ceremony of Honey Bee 2, the film directed by Jean Paul Lal that is scheduled to hit the theatres next week, was held yesterday (March 15, 2017) in Kochi.

The ceremony held at Gokulam Park Inn, Kochi was attended by the entire cast and crew of the movie along with other celebrities, as well. But, it was actor Vinayakan, who stole the show with his presence.

The actor, who won the Kerala State Film Award for the Best Actor, was honoured by team Honey Bee 2 during the occasion. Interestingly, it was the first honouring ceremony held in the name of the actor, after the award announcement.

The crowd did go crazy when Vinayakan appeared on the stage and the State Award-winning actor did get a grand reception.

Jayasurya, who has worked with Vinayakan in a good number of movies, was the one who handed over the memento to the actor. In his speech, Jayasurya showered praises on Vinayakan.

The grand event was attended by Asif Ali, Lal, Lal Jr, Lena, Sreenivasan, Vysakh, Sibi Malayil, Suresh Krishna, Baburaj, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Remya Nambeesan, Udayakrishna, Harisree Asokan etc. Honey Bee 2 will hit the theatres on March 23, 2017.

Manju Warrier's Aami will start shoot on the 24th.

Aami, a biopic of writer Kamala Das, will start shoot on the 24th of this month, its director Kamal has announced. Manju Warrier plays the renowned writer in the movie. Aami had been embroiled in controversy ever since it was announced, with Vidya Balan, who was originally meant to play the role, backing out. It was alleged that her right wing allegiances had made Vidya back out, though Kamal denied it. Later Manju Warrier was roped in for the role, post which Manju wrote a long statement on how the film should be viewed as a film, and not as a political statement.

Actor Unni Mukundan to do a short film for Motor Vehicles Department.

While riding on roads, the flashy headlights in vehicles have always been troubling the drivers. It looks like the issue will soon be addressed through actor Unni Mukundan. Here's how. He will soon venture on a short film for the Motor Vehicles Department so that the issue can be dealt with.

Sunny Wayn starer Alamara becomes the first movie to release in Middle East before its Kerala release.

Midhun Manuel Thomas' directorial Alamara sets record by becoming the first movie to have a Middle East release prior to its Kerala release. The film that is all set to hit theatres in Kerala on March 17 will be released in Middle-East countries on March 16.
Earlier, Malayalis in Middle East used to share their eagerness in watching the Mollywood releases while Malayalis in Kerala express their opinion on social networking pages. And usually, the Malayalam films are released after a week or a month in Gulf countries.

However,the Gulf Malayalis are happy now as they do not have to wait to watch Alamara! They call it as a wonderful move.

Unni Mukundan is busy with films in Tollywood, but the actor will soon have a release in Malayalam too.
'Avarude Ravukal,' directed by Shanil Muhammad, has Unni in one of the lead roles. The actor recently shared his character teaser intro on his social media page and going by the video, he has pulled off a 'happy-go-lucky ladies man' act convincingly in the film.

Honey Rose, Nedumudi Venu, Vinay Forrt and Asif Ali are also part of the film, which is written by the director himself.

Oru Vadakkan Selfie Goes To Telugu.

Oru Vadakkan Selfie, which released in the year 2015, was one of the biggest hits of that year. The movie, directed by debutant G Prajith, did feature Nivin Pauly, Manjima Mohan, Aju Varghese, Vinneth Sreenivasan etc., in the lead roles.

Now, the film is all set to have a Telugu remake. Reportedly, the Telugu version of the film will also be directed by G Prajith, and the team has roped in Telugu actor Allari Naresh for the lead role.

Malayalam actress Nikhila Vimal, who made her debut in films as a leading lady with the Dileep starrer Love 24X7, will portray the role done by Manjima Mohan in the original version.

The Telugu remake of Oru Vadakkan Selfie will also mark the debut of Nikhila Vimal in Tollywood. She hasn't acted in a Malayalam movie after Love 24X7, which unfortunately couldn't do well at the box office. But the actress did go to make a mark in the Tamil film industry.

Reportedly, the shoot of the film has already begun. Nikhila Vimal is expected to join the sets of the movie by the last week of March.
