Digital advertising network NetworkPlay has signed an exclusive advertising sales agreement with DTH service provider Sun Direct TV. The agreement gives NetworkPlay rights to sell and serve ads on all Sun Direct-owned and operated properties on its DTH platform.
Commenting on the alliance, Ampreet Singh, Co-founder of NetworkPlay, said, “To us, DTH is the only space where there are branding opportunities on an uncluttered platform and we are very glad that we have been the only network which has embarked on this endeavour. Through our experience in evangelising this space, the only way to go was to gun for market leadership. Sun Direct, with its emphatic dominance in the South, adds a unique strength to the bouquet of DTH advertising options we offer.”
Mahesh Kumar, CEO, Sun Direct, added here, “Sun Direct has a large and unique share of the rapidly growing DTH space and has been one of the fastest growing DTH brands in the country today. NetworkPlay’s experience and leverage in the area of DTH advertising gives us the opportunity to monetise this growth in an effective way. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with them.”
Sun Direct, which claims to have 6.7 million subscribers across India, uses the latest MPEG-4 based technology for its broadcasting capacity. Currently, it offers HD channels like Movies Now, Discovery World, National Geographic Channel as well as exclusive HD services like Tamil movie service, Telugu movie service, Tamil film songs service and Telugu music service.
