Please don't justify the present wrong by giving example of past. Even with charging 19 per month, sony has a diversity of program. They show telecast a variety of events and their sports HLs. While compared to that the only thing Star does is telecasting cricket highlights 24/7. If you see current schedule, some 22-23 hours are dedicated for Cricket in Star Sports 1. How does it justify charging 19 only for one sports?! And honestly no one told these broadcasters to buy rights at such high inflated price. It's their fault for doing so. ( I very well know that Star/sony bid for near same price).

Well, you are taking an example when they ran out of rights. Normally there will be a PKL season starting right about now and it's India's second largest watched sport which they developed by investing a lot into it from ground up. Then there is ISL and PBL and Indian Hockey games on top which they have invested a lot in.

Well, the broadcasters aren't also telling anyone to buy their channels. If you feel that the channel aren't worth don't subscribe them. Simply complaining here doesn't do anything. And regarding a single sport argument, they do have two dedicated channels for niche sports and they are carrying many live games, subscribe for those then.

Only Sony Ten 2 HD Portfolio- UCL, UEL, Serie A, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Olympics, EURO, Copa America, UFC, J league, AFC Qualifier of Japan National team. All these for 19 inclusive of tax. Add to that they telecast different match and highlights all the time. Not the same highlights and boring shows all the time like Star is doing. Sony Justifies paying 19 for their channel. Star does not.

I heard that foreign country pay channels not showing ads. Free to air channel showing ads.. why TRAI not amending this rules..

We are paying for channels. Additionally, they showing ads from last ball of over to next over first ball..


Why TRAI not thinking and taking this issue???

No difference in india pay channels vs free to channels except their content telecasting??. Always ads....

Let's take Disney's accailmed network FX, they charge a basic subscription fee and show ads. Most of all the popular channels are all basic cable channels and Shows ads.
