Absolutely not true. Yes, some pay channels doesn't show ads because they are charging premium like HBO, ShowTime, Cinemax, Starz etc. Rest all shows ads. Let's take Disney's accailmed network FX, they charge a basic subscription fee and show ads. Most of all the popular channels are all basic cable channels and Shows ads.
Is this applicable for HD channels (no restriction for showing ads).? Since we pay more amount for hd channels more than sd pay channel ?.

Nothing specific about this in both NTO 1 and 2. So I think they can.
Ads revenue ....Dth subscription revenue...Ott subscription revenue....Broadcaster Earning plenty of money just because they know there is no unity amongst consumers....All broadcaster united against Trai.....And they are enjoying ....We need to unite .

Even in India it is not cheap if we consider our currency and purchasing power of people.
Not just purchasing power. Our mindset also stops us from paying. We don't want to pay much for entertainment. Look Hotstar VIP as example. It cost less than a price of a charger. Yet, it's a tough sell. Hence, the niche channels and smaller broadcasters are dying out. NTO was a stupid idea. NTO 2.0 is supposed to be pocket friendly to customers which doesn't look same after the verdict.

NTO is a good rule, just that broadcasters need to adopt it properly and consumers should pay justified amount for diff content. This free culture or everything in lowest cost is not quite good if one wants good content

Also digital platforms and satellite channels have huge diff in running costs. Satellite chs require licence fee, content acquisition at high cost, higher transmission / operational cost, less revenue share from distribution while for Digital Platforms there is no license fee required, content rights r priced less, set up and operational costs r less and all revenue comes directly to broadcasters. Only similar thing is both largely work on voulume of subscribers but pricing differs due to above reasons
