For this situation DTH STBs are great, you get software updates like forever. My Tata Sky+ Transfer box still gets software updates.

This might be true for regular non Android boxes. However, I don't think there'll be any update to the core Android version on these hybrid STBs. They are not even pushing the monthly security updates. Xstream is still stuck at 2019 September patch!!

Didnt ADTV Xstream stb get a update some days back ??? I guess he mean dth operators updates and not Google specific updates.

Those updates doesn't mean much to the hybrid boxes. Anyway, I mentioned about the Android updates in my post.

Iam an existing Tata sky subscriber and i recharged just yesterday,if i upgraded to Tata sky 4k android box my balance will carry forwaded with my existing subscriber id,or else It would be required an again recharge after upgradation pls reply someone.

Rs 3999 will be deducted as upgrade charges. So u need to recharge extra Rs 3999 if u want ur existing balance to be as it is

Another question, is they are charging binge subscription of rs.249/- after free trail.Without binge subscription can we access free contents like youtube etc?
