On weekdays Star Gold 2 airs more dubbed south indian movies .... I feel that most of these might b retired soon. After Star Gold 2 HD is launched some content strategy changes will b made is what i foresee. All i can say is that if Star Gold 2 airs dubbed films like what it did today or tomm then its ratings will fall down massively

Yes, like Disney-Fox deal that made all of USA, Hollywood and world look at it, Indian Film Industry is shocked to hear about a record breaking deal when Satellite market is said to be slowing down.

But this hush hush deal involves the biggest film studio in the country, Yash Raj Films and Star Network. Sony Network has had quite a long relationship with YRF since the day they launched Sony TV in India.

All YRF biggies were telecasted on TV by Sony Network channels and the long partnership of 2 decades as come to an end it seems. Due to some re-negotiations that also involves digital rights of the films, both parties have decided to end the partnership further it seems.

Star Network who have huge presence in India, digitally too in the form of Hotstar, reportedly offered Rs. 500 crores deal to YRF for making Star their home for digital and satellite TV content.

The deal will always remain hush hush behind the doors as both of them don’t believe in revealing any details related to financial transactions. But if the offer is true and deal will be finalized then Star Network might go for a similar deal to Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions which is growing immensely as second biggest studio in Indian Cinema.
Not YRF but sony wants to ended this relationship

This looks like Star Gold, not Star Gold 2, even despite the logo of Star Gold 2 in the corner. The triangle in the bottom right corner is orange which stands for Star Gold. If it were Star Gold 2 it would have been green like below.
