Actually all critically acclaimed, offfbeat new or old bollywood movies are best suited for disney star as they give space to such films more prominently on Star Gold Select as well as other channels too. About other mainstream pre 2000 films i feel any broadcaster acquiring rights would be a good thing as all have channels to showcase such movies though again disney star and viacom18 hold an edge here as they air many good and variety of bollywood films from 1970s to 2010 on Star Utsav Movies & Colors Cineplex Bollywood hence can cater more effectively to both DD Free Dish Audience as well thru main channels to their Pay TV Audience . Sony Wah rarely airs such films nowadays and Zee has very poor scheduling strategy where few films gets repeated many times and it also gives more prominence to dubbed South Indian Movies on its channels
Disney Star again has distinct advantage of providing maximum bollywood content on its channels alongwith dubbed hollywood movies which no other rival network has managed to achieve. Also New Movies get premiered faster on Star Utsav Movies, Sony-Zee take little longer for it while Viacom18 does not air new bollywood movies on Colors Cineplex Bollywood.
I think in next weeks many bollywood movies from YRF films, VVC Film Library, some T Series Films, Dharma Productions, Eros,,Venus Films, Vishesh Fioms, Vipul Shah, Aftab Pictures,,Filmkraft & Hollywood Films from Sony Pictures / Universal Pictures + many other films owned by Ultra, Shemaroo, NH Studioz like Salaakhwn, Dus, Mastii, Khakee,Dewangee,,Soldier ,Kya Kehna, Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi,,Aankhen 2002,,Deewane,,Fida (2004), will shift to Disney Star.
NH Studioz owned BR Film movie library , , Pahlaj Nihalani Films, Vimal Kumar Films, Sadanah Brothers films likely to shift from disney star to sony- zee soon. Also Hum Hai Raahi Pyaar Ke might also shift to sony zee
