Discussion Satellite rights of Hindi movies

Please ignore zee channels to watch, they always in hunger to take satellite rights of different movies from different production house but they can't give them proper times as well as they have poor AQ and PQ....best network compared to all of these is STAR NETWORK... their AQ, their PQ.... Mindblowing... If yrf moves to ZEE i don't feel surprise infact if they continues this strategy in future.... That day are not far of being like the condition of sony and sahara...

Agree. But atleast zee just like Sony is trying to improve upon its content strategy and trying to give more space to bollywood movies which should be appreciated. Yes, like Sony they learnt from their mistake of being too much focused on dubbed south indian movies but still it is good that now they r trying to take corrective measures.

Both the adverse financial impact of following earlier content strategy as well seeing grand success of Disney-Star hindi movie channels which air wide array of bollywood and dubbed hollywood movies would have played a part in Zee-Sony trying to redesign the content strategy for its Hindi Movie Channels. Also the fact that they were losing rights of so many bollywood movies , above all bcoz of alienating bollywood movies audience even good bollywood movies would have not received desired ratings on their channels and even banners/producers would have been unhappy with their movies getting less visibility or good ratings on their channels thus all these factors would have also contributed in a big manner for them to rethink over changing the content strategy


Let us wait for some more time as in coming months sony-zee shall future improve on their shortcomings.

Also i think Aamir Khan production films r shortly set to leave zee network. I just hope Disney-Star renews agreement with them and we get to see movies like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak on their hindi movie channels. Even if Viacom18 renews them i would still b happy as i am sure they will air these movies on Colors Cineplex Bollywood and Colors Cineplex HD.

Even Disney-Star should renew movies like Mastiii, Khakee, Aankhen (2002), Kaante, Dus, Life Partner (2009), Dil Diya Hai, Aashiq Banaaya Aapne, MP3 (2006), Shemaroo owned Tips Movie Library,,Jab We Met, Namastay London, Chachi 420, Rangeela, Hindustani, ABCL/Navketan Films/Prakash Mehra production movie library, Ghajini, Sarfarosh, Aaloo Chaat (2009), Do Dooni Chaar, Rokk Sako Toh Rok Lo, Sunday, Shikhar, Black (2005), Bheja Fry, Hulla, Jannat (2008), Red Chillies Movies Library (which includes Madras Talkies , Eagle, Cineyug bollywood movies) , Warner Bros bollywood movie library etc

Another Vishesh Films movie whose satellite rights reside with Eros now set to premiere on zee hindi movie channels , Dhoka will be aired tomorrow during late night slot on &Pictures SD / HD.

Still none of the movies from Vishesh Films library which r currently with Disney-Star have shifted to zee but chances pf same happening remain high as all such movies r on repeat mode across disney-star hindi movie channels. Let us see if Disney-Star renews agreement with Vishesh Films and retains + gets access to more of their movies or has Zee already done so and will get even those Vishesh Films movies which r currently part of Disney-Star movie library

Next Gen Films Bollywood Movie Library likely moving out from zee soon...maybe even from Viacom18. I hope these shift to Disney-Star soon or maybe viacom18 will get rest of such movies from zee. 3rd possibility is that Eros will get its rights and hand it over to Goldmines as part of their partnership. As i have stated earlier that FTA broadcaster / library companies like Goldmines , Shemaroo, Pen India, Eros/B4U seem to be forming some kind of alliance or a sharing agreement for movie library they hold

Zee even Renewed "Kismat Konnection (2008)" through old movies agreement with tips, so maybe here UTV was either a Distributor or a producer.

Airing tomorrow on &XplorHD at 11:30AM.

Don't know whether "Fiza (2000)" has been renewed by Disney-Star or will be shown after a long time, tomorrow airing in watershed hours at 4:03AM on UTV Movies.

Still unsure if old tips movie library held by Shemaroo will shift from Viacom18 to Zee or Disney-Star.

Bhagam Bhag (2006) likely to be renewed very soon by Disney-Star alongwith another Akshay Kumar movie Namastay London. Salman Khan movies too will also shift from zee to disney-star, already 2 have moved and even aired on disney-star hindi movie channels

Maybe Disney-Star will renew these as they might be planning to launch a new classic bollywood movies channel soon and r building a big movie catalogue for the same

I heard that they will launch new channels like star gold romance etc from 15th February .But not launched yet
