well sony has handful of popular bollywood movies hence u will see repetition max over there. Sony had gr8 opportunity to build on bollywood content but just relied upon dubbed cinema and now on losing wicket. Zee and Star still have good balance across different types of cinema

Disney /Star wants to keep the ip inhouse i.e., they are trying to work out the Hollywood model in India where they will be finanancing the movie and will get everything out of that project and producer will get his producing fee. This is will irk Indian production houses as they dont want to walk into that model in the near future. The main reason for UTV motion pictures to shut its production businesses is also the same and some projects they had greenlit. I guess Fox Star also will be cautious moving forward on reaching distribution in near future. They will be focusing on developing content inhouse as one of the mistakes they did after acquiring UTV is not to develop in house content and now UTV motion pictures is just a registrated company to be displayed on censor certifications.

Well they surely must be having somewhat less money than Zee or Disney to acquire films, Disney backing has boosted star india resources while zee does not have money consuming sports biz hence can allocate more to hindi movie genre. Still Sony could have done far better, let alone having new deals they did not give space to movies of various producers which rested in its library and almost all r seeming to go other side now. Max 2 is a success and having similar channel for post 2000 movies would have been even bigger hit, now those brands keen on reaching out to hindi heartbelt bollywood audience will tend to stay with zee or star as far as main flagship channel is concerned. Sony is not even adopting 16: 9 AR for Sony Mix and pathetic picture quality by zooming twice the SD Aspect Ratio is letting to ratings going southwards for it too

They are aiming through theatrically released dubbed films. They are aiming to buy Darbar rights so that They maintain a balance.

Why so? If they get a better deal from rival then same thing like YRF will happen. Right now only secure pact with Ajay Devgn n Star/Disney bcoz of immense bond, respect and admiration for each other... Yes monetary gains is also reason but as i see Ajay Sir/Disney will be happy to keep this going even if some changes r required in price

Padmalaya library is with Goldmines. So it can move though

SPN has 2 releases this year. Both of them being unconventional films.SPN page is promoting Nikkamma, Aankh Micholi, Looop Lapeta (Run Lola Run remake) if these films will come under Sony then it will be beneficial for them in the long run. SPN can now hope that Pati Patni Aur Woh, Darbar, Street Dancer 3D would bring the necessary ratings for them. Unless it will become what Viacom is today
