Did anyone notice that now star gold and star gold 2 are airing super hit/blockbuster movies in the 12-1 AM slot like today at 12:45 AM they are going to air prem ratan dhan payo and tomorrow at 1 AM they are going to air chhichhore on star gold and they are going to air luka chuppi on 12:45 AM on star gold 2 today.So this is also a good step because nowadays due to lockdown there are many people who watch tv till late night(like me) and this is also one of the reasons why star gold is always in the top 5 in trp

Also break free. These r basically movies whose appeal is restricted to shorter time span hence star network trying to make most of it while some have long term repeat value but star network will most probably not have rights for same later hence leveraging the opportunity at present

Bro star gold is continuously loosing trp from previous few weeks. It has decreased around 30-40%now from the week when they did wtp of war. It's continously decreasing week by week. And star gold 2 is not even in top 5.
Regarding late night bollywood movies this, thing is done by each and every network. Even Viacom 18 does this

You are right. Every netwok does this but not every network airs super hit/blockbuster movies which star gold and star gold 2 is airing nowadays. Sometimes sony max and sony wah also air such movies if they fail to get higher trp in the day time like chak de india,murder series,ek tha tiger,mere brother ki dulhan,paan singh tomar,dhoom series,ram-leela, gunday,queen,rocky handsome,fan,sarbjit,azhar and many more. But very few of them are worth watching.So currently star gold and star gold 2 are airing the best movies in that night slot

But airing movies in late night slot doesn't provide that much trps as they do in the day time (morning, afternoon or 8,9 pm night slot). And most of the movies u mentioned that Sony plays both in day and late night slot like ek tha Tiger, paan singh tomar, ram leela, Chak de India, fan, dhoom series queen, murder series, gunday etc are all blockbusters too, how can u say that they are not worth watching

Just looking at overall TRP ratings cannot give full pic of how chs r performing, there r various layers to data which leads to judging or attaining success or failure. By the way Sony Max 2 is doing quite well though it hardly makes to Top 5, all bcoz it is operating in a diff segment which caters to classic films audience and thereby has another business model than that of chs catering to latest stuff.

Similarly rural, urban, north , south share, investment required and revenue generated based on demographic share of various films and range of other things r looked into to see if ch is doing well or not. Star Network may b doing better than others specially bcoz it has strong bollywood library which yields good audience share in hindi belt and advertisers r ready to pay more in this case rather than for a dubbed movie where mostly audience share comes from south india and these r people who have watched original film in native lang thus becoming repeat audience on hindi channels... Advertisers tend to show more interest in getting slots at higher rates on regional movie or ent chs for reaching out to south indian audience


Overall what i want to say is that Sony Max might be getting more ratings but ad revenue might not be equally high, what is happening is they r getting dubbed movies at relatively lower price than bollywood fims and managing to gain profit on it. Star Network is investing heavily on bollywood and getting equally high returns on them barring some cases. 5 or 6 yrs ago Sony Max got dubbed films rights at very low price but same is not case now hence they will surely ramp up bollywood content to keep up with times and handle competition

Event star network does so, during lockdown people tend to watch movies late night and though ad revenue might not come but ratings do. Tanhaji will premiere once star convinces advertisers to come onboard like they did with War, currently they cannot telecast it whenever they deem right as ad fills r down by large extent

Bro when u look at Sony max 2, it not entering in the top 5 trp list because most of the movies are already watched by the people. Still max 2 manages them really well. Add revenue is the extra source of income. The main thing is the trps that the networks are concerned about.
Sony max has many dubbed movies but not all of them provide trps.
Sony max getting high trps because of recent success is bollywood movies like Pati patni or woh, Marjaavaan, Kabir singh, batla house. And bollywood movies like pk, 3 id*ots, tiger zinda hai, sultan, munna Bhai MBBS, Dilwale, heropanti, Aashiqui 2,chak de India, Bhootnath returns, Sonu ke titu Ki sweety, Hindi medium, yeh Jawani Hai deewani And they have started to show bollywood movies like sarbjit, tumhari sulu, ram leela, DDLJ, Mohabbatein, dhoom series, Mubarkan etc
Even they gave best tribute to Irfan khan, rishi kapoor by showing their bollywood movies all day. Plus South movies like bahubali series, kgf, allu Arjun movies and few Hollywood ones as well. Sony managing the bollywood, Hollywood and selected South movies really well. Where's as star continuously loosing trps because of repeating movies. They have good bollywood library but not utilizing them properly . Zee is even doing better than Foxstar +Disney in managing their bollywood movies and they are also getting more trps than star
