13 years would prove to be a killer for Sony in this cut throat world. I don't see Sony coming back alive. They're the most mismanaged network, thanks to np Singh.
The problem is they cater a single category of audience. These South Indian movies are loved by masses in B town and rural area. These are cheap to acquire with good repeat value. Even Sooryavansham gets good ratings. The thing is they ignored their urban audience. They gotten away with IPL all this years. Now that they don't have IPL. They are suffering. If they gotten a urban centric channel. Everyone would have been happy.

My final reaction on the Star-Yrf merger is it is like the Kalaignar-AVM Merger in 2007.
AVM which has produced Sivaji had gone into an agreement with Kalaignar TV for its whole library breaking up with Sun but its 2008 and 2009 films were with Sun because of their involvement as a distributor. and now after 13 years AVM has once again joined hands with Sun i think similar is going to happen with the Star-Yrf merger
You are comparing sun-avm-kalaignar & sony-yrf-star in very wrong way....at 1st sun is way ahead of kalaignar in terms grp & its reach thats y avm breaksup with kalaignar & again joined hands with sun but in hindi movies market all 3 major networks reach nd grps are approximately equal nd all 3 have multiple movie channels....so this is not gonna happen for sure

Np Singh is not at fault at all Neeraj Vyas is the main culprit.
Agree that Neeraj Vyas is responsible for the slow collapse of SET Max. NP Singh is not responsible for this. If anything, he has taken the two Hindi GECs to greater heights.
The network as such is completely mismanaged, not just Max
Can anybody give examples from the (i) sports and (ii) English genres?
It's clear that Sony BBC Earth has low ratings because of wrong pricing and packaging, but TS's recent changes should help.

English genres
Sony Pix has been mostly out of the top 5 Barc list for some weeks. I see it at #4, but I haven't seen it in top 5 for some time now. Mismanagement.
Sony Max, no need to say a word
AXN, out of the Barc list for a lot of times. No need to say anything again. (Even Disney International beat it now)

Ipl will be renewed in 2023 bidding is concerned because Sony will also buy Digital rights of Ipl since Sony Group is in profit while Disney-Fox is facing loss
