Any good ideas for sports channels of Star and Sony here? I think numbering is both confusing and lame. Broadcasters needs to be creative.

The number 1 should be removed from Star Sports regional channels. There isn’t going to be any Star Sports 2 Hindi. Also, Star Sports First should be renamed as it causes confusion with SS1.

For Sony, retire the Ten brand and call the channels Sony Sports 1/2/3/4/5/6 (where 6 is obviously Sony Six; 5 can be launched later).

Star sports - for all sports ( non cricket )
Star sports select - for Star sports with regional feed ( only feed )
Star cricket - exclusive cricket place
Star cricket select - language feed of star cricket
ESPN - premium sports channel

Sony sports - non cricket
Sony six - cricket
Sony Ten - premium sports
Sony neo - golf

SS First needs to be discontinued. They needs to introduce Star Sports 3 HD.

Zing can be rebranded into Zee Zing / Zee Lite, hindi secondary general entertainment channel that will continue to air premium content in the afternoons and few original finite series in the primetime.

&TV can be rebranded into &Fun, a hindi comedy channel. They had shown their potential in comedy genre so if the channel turns into a comedy channel it could be a huge success.

Sony Aath can be rebranded into Sony Bangla, a bengali general entertainment channel. Like they started Sony Marathi with a modern approach focussing at the urbans, they can start the same here too and bring shows that are more focussed on youth and urban bengalis because here youth's appetite for content is large but shows are very very less.

It's not happening, Market like Tamil Nadu they will launch Many sports channels like Star Sports 2, 3 Tamil

Sony can delete the TEN word from its sports network and use only numbers
Like Sony One , Sony Two matching to Sony Six
Will they launch Sony TEN 10

They should relaunch Maa junior (now star maa gold) channel. They should telecast kids movies & kids related shows just like they previously telecasted. And they should telecast some shows like best of luck nikki, Shakti maan, Sunaina, Cambala investigation agency etc....

Sun Network should go for a total revamp, like this :

TAMIL :

SUN TV - Unchanged. Just replace the 'TV' with 'SUN'

SUN News - Should shutdown as it still telecasts news on the parent Sun TV at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm. And besides SUN News has been having low ratings ever since the launch of news channels like News7 Tamil, News18 Tamilnadu., Pudhiya Thalaimurai, and so on. Moreover, they have already shut down Udaya News and Gemini News. So no need for SUN News as well.

Adithya TV - Rebrand as SUN Comedy or SUN Sirippu (Sirippu is Tamil for laugh).

SUN Life - Unchanged.

KTV - Rebrand as SUN Movies or SUN Kondattam (KTV always uses the word Kondattam in its Channel Branding)

SUN Music - Rebrand as SUN Isai.

Chutti TV - Rebrand as SUN Kids or SUN Pasanga

TELUGU :

Gemini TV - Unchanged.

Gemini Comedy - Rebrand as Gemini Navvulu

Gemini Movies - Rebrand as Gemini Chithralu

Gemini Music - Rebrand as Gemini Sangeetham/Gemini Paatalu

Kushi TV - Rebrand as Gemini Kids/Gemini Pillalu

Udaya TV - Unchanged

Udaya Music - Rebrand to Udaya Geethe (Udaya Geethegalu)
