DTH updates Software update v. 48 also on box out of warranty

my old HD STB nearly 6 years which is also out of warranty is getting updated with download version 48.

is d2h also started updating software of out of box warranty since I have heard that only setup box which are under warranty are only eligible for free update.

No changes in UI. Only change I can see is now you can add unsubscribed channel directly from remote and account balance will be update daily. I am trying to upload the photo but unable don't know what is wrong. I will try again after sometime.
