Sony is known for giving up easily. I hope Sony Marathi succeeds but I feel like if they dont get the destined TRP they will turn to reruns of dubbed Marathi serials.
They gave up Sony pal easily by converting it to fta. See Zeel; it's still trying out with and tv

Waiting for sony tamil
Waiting for Sab Telugu channel from sony network
Any chance of Sony Assamese?
After successfully launching of Sony Marathi, they will surely expand their regional footsteps. I heard from some unofficial sources, that their next target is Sony Kannada as of now.
After that they will surely launch Sony Tamil & Sony Telugu; we may see Sony Malayalam, Sony Punjabi, Sony Odia, Sony Gujarati also in future. But dont have any idea about Sony Assamese, where Zee is also absent.

why they forget "Sony Aata Bengali" regional channel already available from the years.....

Sony has lot of Hindi and Sports channels
They can convert a few of them to regional channels if they want.

Sony Aath is not an actual GEC, it shows only dubbed contents, some locally produced bengali animated shows. No people even villagers also from West Bengal, watch this channel.
So, at this point of view, Sony Marathi is their 1st GEC for any regional market.

Already we have Discovery Jeet in Hindi, airing dubbed American crime shows. For the first few months it had original content but then it gave up.

Even Zee and Star could not do anything in Assamese. Why Sony?

Sony was unwilling to enter the regional market in 2010, but it was forced to buy Channel 8 (totally different from Aakash Aath). This is not SPN's fault, but at the same time it has been very negligent with Sony Aath. It absolutely does not care. Therefore Sony Marathi is SPN's first serious attempt in the regional market.
