Breaking Sony is planning to expand their regional channels soon

Sony has sab tamil license !! So I hope we can expect soon sony tamil !! Only sab telugu license cancelled

Already we have Discovery Jeet in Hindi, airing dubbed American crime shows. For the first few months it had original content but then it gave up.

Even Zee and Star could not do anything in Assamese. Why Sony?

Sony was unwilling to enter the regional market in 2010, but it was forced to buy Channel 8 (totally different from Aakash Aath). This is not SPN's fault, but at the same time it has been very negligent with Sony Aath. It absolutely does not care. Therefore Sony Marathi is SPN's first serious attempt in the regional market.

Sony Aath has decent TRP. its not exactly as flop as you may think it is. CID , Adaalat are good

They gave up Sony pal easily by converting it to fta. See Zeel; it's still trying out with and tv
Yeah true. But &TV, its almost time to give up now... its about to be 4 years of flop programming (except for Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai). Although initially some series were good nearly all arent worth watching now.

Any chance of SONY ODIA?
Star does not want Odia. Star, Zee and Viacom do not want Assamese. When more established regional networks do not want these languages, Sony has no chance.

Out of STAR, ZEE, COLORS and SONY, the only group not to have presence in South is SONY.
Expecting them to come to South, maybe Tamil or Telugu to start with.

Sony is just starting. The others are established.
