Zee Entering Assam with Zee Assam Northeast Soon .. As they already announced For Zee Malayalam,Punjabi & Assamese Launch.

Not before 2020. Now they are focusing on Zee Keralam/Malayalam, then Punjabi. Anyway Star and Viacom do not care about Assamese.

Star does not want Odia.

According to BARC data, TRP ratings of odia channels are rapidly increasing. If u follow latest rating, 2 odia channels Zee Sarthak & Tarang TV get more than 1 lakh ratings. Rather it is not a very large market, but u never consider this market as small. Star Should enter in Odia market with a high quality GEC & a movie channel soon. There are huge potentiality for getting success & profit also.

Except 6 large regional markets, Star has no interest to enter medium or small regional market. They are too much selfish, never thinks about people.
Zee is far better than Star. They take care off all large, medium & small regional market equally. Very soon they will cover Assamese market (considered as too small market) also. Hats off Zee :cap:

For Zee, Gujarati is pending. Zee Gujarati shut down in 2008. But on the other hand Gujarati people prefer to watch Hindi channels. I don't know how Colors Gujarati is surviving.
Hopefully Zee will be able to return to Punjab. Zee ETC Punjabi was a very good channel and it should not have been shut down.

It's just that Zee is interested in launching channels in every market where they are not present, while Star is launching more channels in the existing markets (except Bangla and Marathi). But Star should definitely try to consider the Punjabi, Assamese and Odia markets. I don't think Gujarati is worth it.

Talking about regional markets, Gujarati and Bhojpuri are surprises to me.

Just one private non-news channel in Gujarati.
Around 10 non-news channels for Bhojpuri on the other hand.

Gujarati has Dhamaal Gujarat for music and Lakshya for religious.

Bhojpuri GEC: Big Ganga, Anjan, Dishum.
Movies: Oscar Movies, Bhojpuri Cinema, Dabangg.
Music: Sangeet Bhojpuri.
Only 7 channels. But none of the big networks except Zee.
