IPL- " An average of 105 million unique viewers watched 17 matches in the first two weeks of IPL 2021, registering a dip of 9.5% over last year as per BARC data. In 2020, an average of 116 million unique viewers watched 14 matches in the first two weeks of the league. IPL matches started on April 9.

In the opening week, a total of 268 million viewers watched the first eight matches (9 to 16 April) of Indian Premier League (IPL), said IPL’s official television broadcaster Star and Disney India which runs Star Sports, quoting data from BARC. The data represents viewers above two years of age across urban and rural markets. This amounted to a 13% viewership decline over the 2020 edition where seven matches were watched by 269 million viewers. Star did not offer comment on the decline."

ISL- "In its first week, the competition garnered 3.42 billion viewing minutes compared to 3.16 billion last season, according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data. The overall pan-India spike in viewing percentage is 16%, with an 18% increase in Hindi-speaking markets and 14% in the south. Male 15+AB urban viewers clocked a TVR of 0.41 which is a 5% increase from the previous season (0.39). Similarly, the same demographic has also registered greater time spent viewing (TSV) this season."

Toba Toba... IPL is seeing decline in first week viewership while ISL is seeing an upward movement.... I wander what will happen to the next cycle rights.

ISL had Total 3 billions viewing minutes for the first week of tournament .

While for cricket .. even with decline a single match of IPL.. got 10 Billion viewing minutes..n had 323 million impressions For just Opening match ..
For IPL
single game is enough to generate viewership more than whole ISL tournament.

so there is no comparison btw IPL n isl.

bro cricket got his success and glamour after india won titles from 2007 till 2011 and 2013 ct other wise till 1995 people are more interested in hocky even in radio also cover hocky tournament like now they cover indian cricket tournament and if i am not wrong before 2005 even football also relay in radio but now stops. and it's matter of time if in near future cricket stop giving fruitfull result and indian football team qualified in world cup then who know cricket base

Some sports broadcasters needs to start a weekly show called Sports Academy where they educate viewers about new sports. Teach them rules and introduce them to Stars. They can do this on their digital handles too.

They were also airing Goal keeper's union. Also another show based on documentary about various great sports man in football. All on Sony Ten 2 HD. I have seen one episode of GOAT Petr Cech. Here is that tweet.

54 Million people have watched Euros on Sony TV Channels for first 46 matches only. 54 million = 5.4 cr. That is not "some hard football fans". That is a huge number. If you don't watch it, then it's okay. But if you say very few watch football and football is limited to a minority of viewers segment only, then back it up with source. Otherwise stop.
