Sony didn't had set of channels to monetize back than. Things have changed. I am pretty sure Star will end up retaining IPL just for Hotstar. Meanwhile rights of BCCI and ICC will likely go with a new broadcaster. I predict Viacom to have BCCI rights and Discovery to have ICC rights.
ICC events are too risky investment. As soon as Team India is out. Advertisement revenue drops. Although India vs Pakistan draws the highest ratings which even IPL can't match. Don't think it works for rest of the tournament.
DD Sports shows Indian cricket team's international limited over matches in DD free dish, but not on other dth or cables because private channels have broadcasting rights.
Will this be applicable if Amazon prime video grabs any rights or for India's tour of New Zealand?

I mean that Star/sony is tv channel while prime video is streaming platform. So, if Ind v NZ match is showing in prime video, can DD sports show that match on all DTH/cable as no private channel is not showing same match on TV?
