By the way bro, I am not comparing channels. I asked you to go through the package comparison that I did. Have you gone through?

I explained why D2H's Rs.240 pack and Sun Direct's Rs.240 pack are containing different channels.

I also told what will happen if Sun Direct is also giving same set of channels.

I also concluded if Sun Direct is suitable for ROI customers or not.

What is your reply to that?

The channels that I listed are required for any ROI customers for sure. Like how we are expecting more Tamil channels, ROI customers will expect more ROI channels.

The channels that I listed are not available in Rs.240 pack of Sun Direct. You are asking me to take Rs.210 pack. Definitely these channels will not be available in Rs.210 pack. How are you saying that ROI customers also can select Sun Direct. Yes, they can select. But if someone comparing other DTH packs, they will see these difference.

Minimum price of ROI pack in Sun Direct is Rs.210. Other DTH are starting their pack at a minimum of Rs.230. By paying Rs.20 more, they are getting so many channels. Most people will be ready to pay Rs.20 addition since they are getting more channels in their own language.

But even if they are paying the same Rs.30 additional amount to Sun Direct and select Rs.240 pack instead of Rs.210 pack, they will not get these channels.

Are you still saying Sun Direct is the right choice for ROI customers?

1. All DTHs minimum monthly ROI Base Pack prices are not same. No one is having RS 230 p.m. anymore. For Dish TV it is RS 250 p.m. (RS 240 p.m. + RS 10 facility charges). :wall For Tata Sky it is RS 240 p.m. which might increase again anytime. For ADTV it is RS 240 p.m. which will increase in June as posted in some threads of here. For VD2H it is RS 241 p.m. which again might increase due to tax revision. For RDTV also it is RS 240 p.m. But, for Sun Direct it is only RS 210 p.m.

So there are three categories for Lowest ROI SD Base Packages:tup

1. RS 250 p.m. - DISH TV.
2. RS 241 p.m. - VIDEOCON D2H
3. RS 240 p.m. - TATA SKY / AIRTEL DIGITAL TV / RELIANCE DIGITAL TV.
4. RS 210 p.m. - SUN DIRECT PLUS.

Which category people would go for ? Obviously the cheapest.

For Dish TV & Videocon D2H there is no free regional packs as maximum regional channels are provided by them in base pack itself. But CNBC Bajar is not provided by VD2H in any base pack. :angry In their starter pack no DTH is providing any English Channels except Sun Direct & RDTV. Dish TV provides few but those are shared from DDFD tps. Dish TV has to depend on DD FD for 70 to 80 of its channels. :dodgy Sun Direct & RDTV does not charge for DD Channels not even in make my pack. TS & ADTV charges for some DD Channels. Major Hindi channels are available on Sun Direct. Still to be honest some are missing. Sun Direct has space crunch issues so they have added major popular channels only. :tup

For Dish TV these are available on RS 335 p.m. - All Sports Pack & for Tata it is Supreme Sports Kids Pack @ RS 340 p.m. In VD2H also some kids channels are missing in lower base packages. Are these kids channels too costly ? :huh Zoom TV is also missing in Dish's Maxi Sports Pack @ RS 295 p.m. There is not a single English Movie channel in any DTH's lower base packages. Not even RDTV or Zing. :wall Sun Direct provides 3 English Movie Channels. :tup All packs of sun direct are a mix and match of national + regional channels. So is the case with Dish TV & VD2H. But in Tata Sky not even a single regional channels are available in any base packages. Yes there is one good point for Tata Sky too - providing Star Sports 2 / Star Sports HD 2 / Actve Darshan & Actve Doordarshan free in all packs. But we don't have to go blackout due to upgradation activities but yes, Tata Sky users went blackout for some days even during IPLs. One of my office colleague uses Tata Sky & he said for two days majority channels went black out. Unlike Tata Sky & VD2H no one charges useless HD Access Fees ! :wall But yes we have to admit Tata is a " premium brand".
I am not defaming any dth. Just my views.

The worst part of sun direct is its picture quality. - I must admit now that sun direct's picture quality of some channels are not good - Star Jalsha / ABP Ananda / ETV Urdu / Zee Punjabi etc are not good by any standards. :wall They have compressed picture quality of channels to add more channels in existing tps. :angry But then again, it is cheap. It provides exclusive Ramazan Special Service, South Indian Cinema Clubs, Comedy Services etc. I will never give sun direct 10 out of 10 in picture quality.
