No. We can't give them that. Star World was a whole brand in itself before its culling by Disney.

That is what i said bro. They might have taken a wrong decision but with lot of efforts, investment, time already spent in working on its alternative hence rolling back the decision won't have been possible at this stage. Later on they may try to amend the mistake by relaunching English GEC channel .

Also as Disney-Star is the only broadcaster to have wide variety of international content available on its OTT platform Disney+Hotstar hence it also paved way for them to make a transition from linear (TV) to OTT for English / International GEC content and cater to the audience via it. Zee, Sony, Viacom18 do not hold this advantage on OTT front. OTT as a medium is cost effective and offers more options to genetate subscription + ad revenue in the niche content genre

Is Asianet movies HD testing started??

By Star not Disney. They are even trying to sabotage Disney International HD by keeping it off bouquets of Star's HD pack. It's is Star and Disney's only functioning GEC and À la carte channel. And thanks to Disney it's available on all cable and DTH platforms.

Their English content OTT is shrinking. Soon HBO shows will move out. New Showtime shows are exclusive to Voot. They will have some Hulu, FX and some odd ABC's content. The one's produced by third party like Sony will go to rival platforms. Than you got overused Marvel and kid centric Disney content. Ironically, their only USP will be Premier League rights as major ICC events happens once a year. And I strongly believe BCCI's digital rights will go to JioCinema.

So, Disney International HD will be the only English GEC offering from Disney Star. Hope they don't ruin the youth GEC by airing repeated telecast of Koffee with Karan!
It's a kids channel. Not youth GEC. Meanwhile Star will air same episodes of Hannah Montana, Wizards of the Waverly Place, Jonas on a loop until you lose faith both your interest and faith in the channel. Than month or two before shutdown it will fill the airtime with different shows and fresh episodes to help people come and defend Star. See they tried offering you something fresh. You didn't watch it.

I think the target audience were teenagers & young adults, when it was launched. No idea when it turned out to be a Kids channel! 😂

Still there is no update about HBO content exiting Disney+Hotstar and it won't happen anytime soon as launch of HBO Max has been postponed in india. Infact we may see Warner Bros TV shows too being made available on Disney+Hostar, even if they r not still they will have access to wide variety of English / International GEC content from various studios/companies. So they will continue having major edge over OTT platforms of rival networks.

As far as USP of Disney+Hotstar is concerned, there r many and same will help them continue to grow at high rate both in subscriber numbers and revenue.
