Strange that airtel logo has been placed on top left corner on this HD channel as usually apart from few HD channels like Aaj Tak HD Airtel Digital TV has a standard bottom right position fixed for placement of their logo which is very transparent and does not obstruct any text or graphics running on the channel.

Also as i can see from the image Airtel Logo available on Star Sports 1 Tamil HD seems to be opaque/less transparent one which is normally placed by them only on SD channels available on their platform

Bro we have discussed this earlier also. There are 2 reasons why Airtel doesn't opt for standard logo position. One is for piracy reasons. It will be easy for hackers to get away if operators opt for standard logo position but conveniently leaving a blur on the logo. The second is they don't want to interfere with channel logo. Airtel will never opt standard logo position primarily for Piracy reasons. Airtel takes piracy very serious and that's also why they add logo in uplink centre and not using STB. They can instead opt only for bottom left or right. I agree it's less disturbing when placed in the bottom.

No buddy. Logo positioning has nothing yo do with stopping or avoiding piracy of signals. For that purpose there exists fingerprinting which is the unique code which is flashed after certain intervals on set top boxes of a subscriber which helps operators detect the owner/box details/address of where box being used incase same is used for illegally using a channel feed for airing on any other platform / place.

Also broadcasters have such unique fingerprinting which is shown after regular intervals on the IRD/encoder boxes placed at operators end and which we can also see on that TV channel. This helps broadcaster find out if a certain IRD box/signals of a channel from a particular operator r being used for piracy.

Airtel or other operators logo placement is just mainly for branding purpose and they place it at a position or make it transparent / opaque so that it causes least obstructive while viewer watches content on a channel
