Then they should invest accordingly. Who is compelling them to spend too muchHahaha! Buddy in telecom there may have been a case of excessive charging for data or calls but foor broadcast sector same cannot be said. It is extremely difficult to recover huge investments made in acquiring sporting properties, making in house programs on it, hiring people to present the same and above all operating a sports channel. Sports Broadcasters remain cautious of any overspending and same is understandable
What I said is now Star is introducing something new that they aren't ready to do earlier - because the rival is outperforming them. I compared the happenings only on outside.
Companies always have a tendency to stay ahead of the competitor by a smaller margin inorder to reduce expenses. Till these years Sony Liv is the only rival to Hotstar in sports streaming. Sony Liv is poor. Hotstar just kept an edge over them. They need not to do much as no challenges from Sony is happening. Now situation changed. Jio is madly building up their streaming platform. This is why I am glad IPL moved out of outdated streamer. You cannot give a premium event to a platform still living in the late 2000s.
Also I think apart from adding many features Jio cinema still not achieved a flawless premium outfit.
