Please educate me where I'm wrong. and limit your answer to the point I mention below only.
Old regime - TS took 20ps (or so) from broadcasters for some FTA channels. Made 99 base pack with them which included those FTA channels + some channels like Star Sports 2 and First. All other channels (pay or FTA) are chargeable.
New regime - TS still taking 20ps from all FTA channels. Then it is giving them to us at 153 after removing the sports channels and only included FTA channels. All pay channels are chargeable again.!!
So, TS is getting 153 for what they previously got 99. How is it a loss to TS? They should be more than happy for it.
The only minor (very minor) loss to them is that previously some subscribers paid 5-10 Rs for alacarte FTA channels. (Only those channels which were not part of base+regional packs, which were very rare, like English News channels). Now, they are truly FTA, subject to NCF limit.
However, With 54 Rs extra (153-99), they will more than 10 times compensate for this loss.
